"The Final Whistle" (Sponsored by Romford Dog Stadium)

A Week in the Life in Lineker (Sponsored by "The Wife")
Someone once said a week is a long time in football, well they`ve never played FML then!! It's been long week for me, I've been off sick from work all week and I've forced myself to dig the laptop out of the spare room and while away the days playing FML (it's been tough honest). The good thing is I've not had to endure the travel into London from the Suburbs of Essex this week, No cattle class on the tube for me! The only disappointing thing is not seeing the Dog Track as you arrive back in Romford and having to put the laptop and mobile BB away, as the next stop is mine! Sunny Gidea Park, what a place!! And Home!
I think I've cracked this game; you can win it with kids! I'm sure someone said that you couldn't once, ask John Batty or Tony McCall (who by the why was pretty close to the mark this week with some poor Leeds and Yorkshire gags) and not even a warning!! Outrage!
So to season 2, the usual frantic purchase of players in the inflated Lineker game world took place and the build up too season 2 was firmly underway, its approaching 8pm and the climax is building then all of a sudden the mails arrive...we have officially started season 2 of Lineker!! Oh is that it? I was expecting singing and dancing girls and a brass band...
Into my first two games which I lost by the way and I thought...I've actually just wished this guy good luck!! Why do we do that? When all we really want to say is I'm gonna thrash you and i hope you loose! Then crazily at the end of the game when uve just been handed a 4-0 tonking u say Good game!! Well it bloody wasn't a good game for me chump!! But alas that wouldn't be in th community spirit!
There were the usual moans and groans from the usual suspects around wage auctions. ..Aguero Springs to mind and our resident Lineker Wage moaner had his usual column piece in the discussion emails.
I found myself fending off the poachers. You want to go fishing you go to the lake! I'm turning into Terry Tibbs, who for much of the week has been absent, Much Love Terry! (Don't worry they`ll fix the 451 "bug", Matt Payne will answer all your queries on thesubject though, what a nice chap).
So to the Real World (i thought i was in the real world anyway), Paul Ince is sacked after only winning 3 in 17 games, if you put this into context in FML how many would have been sacked i asked myself. I reckon i would have been for arguing with my chairman! Theres a manager in Lineker who`s 3 year old Son is his chairman, every day at breakfast he give his manager a grilling, "Are my team winning Daddy?" I wonder if the Blackburn chairman had the same conversation.
In other News the most amusing video of the week has to be the `lets chuck a shoe` at George Bush!
It was the funniest thing I've seen in the news for a while and it deflects from the usual redundancy and credit crunch stories... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/7783325.stm. My thoughts go to anyone who is struggling at the min with the Credit Crisis, and I'm not talking about the FML one either!
The most amusing conversation i had this week was with a manager in a PM who was moaning that he couldn't find any decent players to `pep` up his team about, after a brief discussion I discovered that he had £6m to spend...Jog on Pal!
The 451 Debate
I quote from the HELP area:
"my point is that when you start playing this game, no doubt you have a idea have how the game should be played out in a tactical sense, many players who joined the game with many of their own ideas, have simply given up on those in a favour of a quick win formation exploit, they have seen the top teams success and got fed up with getting hammered every game and jumped on the band wagon! i don't blame them really, but what are they doing except picking players to fit into a formation and that they is unrealistic, they are not managing"
I think he`s gotta point!
Christmas and beyond..
If you purchased the 3 month subs..Soon your time will be up...will you carry on or will you dance off with Paul Ince into the sunset or jet off to Madrid with Diarra? Or maybe even go on a cricket tour with the England team?
If none of those appeal to you then sign on for another few months...you know you`ll want to!!
SO have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year, I'm off to Cornwall for 10 days as of the 27th but don't worry, my laptop and Mobile BB will be coming with me!( and I've checked the 3 map and they have signal down there!! No running water but hey I can get my mobile bb!! I couldn't be without FML for that long it would drive the wife mad!
Cheers All

Final Whistle..musing from a week in Lineker!
On the blog we will be featuring a weekly post from kev on his thoughts of the week from gw Lineker.
Some musings from a Week in the World of FML and some amusing comments from the London Paper which i read on the way home today to relieve the boredom of yet another train journey from
London in to the Market Town of Romford which as it happens is in Essex no matter what people say!!
As I sat on my laptop in a Car Park in Hendon a couple of weeks ago plugged in my mobie BB and it suddenly dawned to me that i was being taken over!! Not by aliens but by FML, even a fellow work colleague has been caught up in the drug!
IT was all about the wage auctions this week, the will he go for 100k+ vote came out and lo and behold Jo, is now on 100k a week! I’m not sure Mark Hughes would have paid that much for him...nice hair though!
Then came the usual banter in the Lobby which resulted in me being shown a yellow card!! I’m not really a bad boy! Honest, I’m led astray by all these 18&19 year olds arguing in the lobby, just can’t resist joining in! Even the legendary Terry Tibbs was told off...a classic quote from Terry at the start of this week.....”You want to buy a player, you talk to Terry. You want to loan, you goto blockbusters” classic!!
Midweek now and the ever popular Kim Kallstrom came up for wage auction, i myself bid a fair offer of 42k which temporarily left me paralyzed on the transfer market...but hey I began to realise that 42k which never going to be enough....he eventually went for 80+k! Lots of the usual moaning and groaning from the European managers, hey guys don’t forget you can now get a £ for a Euro! So it can’t all be bad!
Towards the end of the week there were various posts about the state of the transfer market..we appear to being having our own credit crunch...this did not stop Shev from Aefa from purchasing a winning line-up- the likes of Owen , Robben, Babel....trust me they do look good together....
I was on a train going home and i came across some articles on the REAL world of sport from the past week
“Following Wednesday`s defeat in Port, Eboue took off his shirt to reveal a vest emblazoned with the words `GOD IS GREAT`...God was later seen wearing a similar vest which read: “Eboue is so-so”
This made me chuckle...the guy has a good point..
“The world darts championships will be shown on Sky HD for the first time this year. Phil the power Taylor and Wayne Mardle in High Def?? Gotta get me that upgrade!!
Ah, I’m ashamed to say David Beckham is an Essex boy. I hold my head in shame:
He was spotted in New Zealand bungee jumping or as he calls it, “the uppy-downy string”
And finnaly this had the biggest chuckle as I approached the Market town of Gidea Park which is even further into Essex than Romford...the great Avram Grant makes some classic comedy statements about his time at Chelsea..
“he said the he “improved” Chelsea. He then took the credit for saving the world economy, bringing joy and laughter to albert Square and having a quite word with Robbie Williams about Take That.
SO to next week..the start of Season 2...Good luck to one and all. Im aiming for a play off place, oh sod it no im not i want to WIN of course!
Cheers

Yes I am alive.
Been a quiet time patiently waiting for my gw to open. The Tradesmen will be running a mock in gw Toms during the new year. But until that I have I have a side in the Lineker gw. So I decided to try something different in this gw since I knew I wouldn't be in the for a long period.
So I selected a squad and went with a youth policy. I picked my whole squad of players being under 21 players. I managed to pick up a couple of relatively well known players in Danny Welbeck and Kazenga Lua Lua. Now one thing that is has been a debated alot on SI's forums is that people need to be in a gw the minute it launches. Now I picked my side 24 hours after the gw had gone live. I still picked a decent squad of u21s.
The next thing I did was frantically learn as many coaching skills as I could to improve these group of players I had coem rain or shine. Alot of them are progressing nicely according to the mails I get in game.
Your coaching staff have indicated that, aided by your excellent coaching techniques, flamboyant Congolese attacking midfielder has been showing remarkable improvements recently.
They added that they believe the player's exposure to first-team football has definitely been a major factor in his development.
Is an example of mail I received theres several variences of these.
One thing you do find with youth route is that it can be big business to buy and sell youth players its quite another to actually spend your time to improve the players though and if I was in the gw for a longer period I would actually use my cxoaching skills to improve other peoples superstars.

Goodbye beta
I know I haven't written much of late its been a strange time in fml land really. Today is the day when the beta servers were officially closed down in preparation for the live gws to launch starting tomorrow. I thought this would be a great opportunity to reflect back on the near year I have testing this game and the journey the game and I have taken.
Well getting involved in this testing has been one of the best things I have done in years. A chance to shape and give my thoughts ideas to the Si team to actually the royal palace that is SI towers. (A messy palace mind sort the office out Miles tut). Being a mod means I had a chance to other sides of the game and how important it is to build a community within a gw. This is where FML has one of its greatest strengths no matter where your from, what your interests are theres usually someone in the gw you can share it with. Its a good thing most like footy tho it does tend to be the focus of most conversations.
It may be the end of beta but its only a journey for most teams are just beginning with the launch of the live gws from tomorrow. Good luck to all those in Cantona for the launch tomorrow I've no doubt there will be plenty to talk about on the forums.
For those like me whose gw does not start quite yet theres always that demo of fm09 to hammer. :)

Gameworld kick-off dates announced!
29th September, 2008
We are pleased to announce the kick-off dates for the Football Manager Live gameworlds have been decided and are displayed below. You are more than welcome to transfer between the gameworlds (where possible) so as to join a world that suits you.Cantona – 27th October
One of our most popular of gameworlds, filling to capacity quickly after it was opened. Cantona has a heavy population of both Manchester United fans and managers from France.
Forum thread
Fernandez – 28th October
A popular gameworld with European managers and a good spread of fans from all over Europe’s top leagues.
Forum thread
Clough – 28th October
There is a massive majority of UK managers in Clough, with over 80% of the world’s population coming from the islands. Nottingham Forest and Derby fans are also prominent.
Forum thread
Fowler – 29th October
Fowler is more dominated by fans of one club than any other, so if you support Liverpool this is the place to be. There is also a nice community for the Australian manager here.
Forum thread
Saunders – 29th October
There’s a high percentage of Scandinavians in this gameworld with the top three towns represented all being from Norway. Outside of Scandinavia, it’s Oxford United that’s the team of choice.
Forum thread
Shearer – 29th October
If you hail from the North of England or support Newcastle you’ll definitely feel at home. Managers from London, Manchester and Bucharest also feature in large numbers.
Forum thread
Lineker – 29th October
An extremely popular gameworld housing large numbers of Tottenham and England fans. Most managers in this world hail from the UK.
Forum thread
Blissett – 30th October
Blissett has a mix of English and Italian fans as well as a high percentage of new Football Manager Live users.
Forum thread
Butcher – 30th October
There is a strong Scottish bias to this gameworld with Rangers being the most supported club and Glasgow, Edinburgh and London lead the way on the city dominance.
Forum thread
Keane – 30th October
Manchester United, Celtic and Sunderland fans dominate Keane. Sure to be a highly competitive gameworld even with the high percentage of managers new to Football Manager Live.
Forum thread
St. John - November
This world has a high percentage of managers from Mediterranean countries, with fans of Liverpool and a number of Greek teams dominating the landscape.
Forum thread
Sharp - November
A world for experienced Football Manager Live Managers; can you beat the best of the best? This world also has many users from the North West of England.
Forum thread
Toms - November
A good starter world for the FML novice. Very few experienced manager’s make this the ideal gameworld to learn your trade. This world has a global feel with Gothenburg, Barcelona and Brighton listed as top cities.
Forum thread
Jackett - November
A good starter world for the FML novice. There is also a high percentage of European and middle eastern managers in this world.
Forum thread
In some circumstances Gameworld kick off times and dates may commence later than specified. SEGA will endeavour to ensure such times and dates coincide with those advertised at pre-order but reserves the right to alter these as deemed reasonably necessary.

How to make a team?
I know theres plenty of people who haven't had an opportunity to beta test this great game yet and wonder how this works and how that works. While I won't go over everything I thought I would try and make a nice easy guide on how to get started.
So what to do when you get 1st sign into fml well 1st off there will be an official mail from SI which informs of the rules and regulations of fml. Many people skip this but it does contain some important information and is worth an initial read through.

Now if you notice in that picture theres a flashing red icon in top left setup assistant thsi will guide through all the steps needed to successfully get started in fml.
next up we have the welcome guide. Its just an introduction into a few things like finance, signing a squad, where to find competitions, football associations and season length etc.

Then next up we have the fun part customising your club. This includes picking your home and away kit as can see from my rather rubbish example theres quite a few to pick from. You also get to name your stadium in this part.

After this is a part which relates to my poll in picking your starting skills. Now it might seem like an easy choice but its not really. Scouting will open up the opportunity to sign players unavailable to others more quickly while tactics could mean getting ahead start on the pitch. Finance could affording that superstar quicker or coaching may improve your players quicker.
Then its picking your squad now the setup assistant will guide you to select your team which will take into your preferences and allocate those players.
what you can also do though is go through the all player list and filter down into your needs position, attributes etc and pick that way.

Once you are happy with the picks you will need to confirm your squad this signs players onto contracts which last a season. Then your good to go playa friendly and gewt your teams hope and dreams started.

The last step on the setup assistant is to pick a Football association where you play your official matches.

GW 22
So I will finally be back in action in gw 22 when it opens tomorrow night at 6.30pm ish (we know what you guys are like at SI)
New Player Database!
As managers in this new gameworld, you will be getting exclusive access to a version of Sports Interactive’s brand new player database for 2009. So, to be the first to scout this year’s wonderkids, make sure you log in as soon as possible.
So it sounds very tempting in what we can find on that database.
SO for those that are moving see you tomorrow.

So where the hell have you been?
Long time no blog! I have not been avoiding all of you just alot happened a month ago and not alot since. I'm sure people are well aware of the demise of gw 11, how it unfortunately became unrecoverable and left me homeless. So rest in peace gw 11 won't be forgotten. But since then I have been well on the outside. Two New gws were launched for those in gws 3 5 6 10 and 11 who lost their old gws. I was supposed to be moving back to gw 4 to moderate with the old mates of Sinkins and Dr Nik but that hasn't happened yet so I'm still waiting to jump back into whats left of beta.

Crash bang Wallop!
So how did it all end? Did I get the screenshot nope! Heres the reason why.
So the league came down to judgement day where the last 9 matches would decide the xfa title. Now to win the title I would need to win every game. Also rely on others to make a slipup in order to do so.
The 1st team out of the blocks to play their games and go top was Liverpool FC who were 2 points in front but had played a game more. They made a gopod effort as well winning 6 games then they drew last 2 games which means if I could win mine I finish above them.
So I play 8 straight games and win them all leaving me at this point top of the table but my final game was against Bostellee Vikings who i had agreed to leave as last fixture and see how he did in his last 7 games before we played it.
1st game up and he draws which if means we are level if he wins the other 5 and the last game between us would be the decider. So I need him to slip again but he doesn't winning the remaining games.
So we have this one game at my stadium where I need a win to win the league and he only needs to avoid defeat due to a superior goal difference (4 goals). An awfull start by my players it like they froze on the big stage going 1-0 down almost from kickoff. Not long before it was 2-0 and Ing's Bostellee seem to be cruising. I make some changes at half time needing to get at them I pulled the game back to 2-2 but Ing held on to win the title on goal difference.
Sickening to lose that way and definately not worth a screenshot on my blog.

Tense finish instore for XFA
With the season due to end on Tuesday the top 5 teams in XFA premier are only separated by 10 points. Whats sure to be a tense tight finish to the title you can describe it as Sir Alex would famously call it sqeauky bum time.
Bostelle Vikings look the odds on favourite for the title. Leading the way currently with a 5 point but can't afford to get complacent and still have some tricky fixtures remaining. Leading the way currently with a 5 point advantage.
Liverpool Fc are next behind and have had a storming second half of the season after a a dissapointing start to the campaign. They boast the firepower of one Fernando Torres could he be the man to make the difference?
Superstar tradesmen are third but 2 points behind with Liverpool fc and a game in hand on the top 2. They will be looking to the pace and talent of Daniel sturridge in the final meeting with Botelle Vikings in what could make or break the season.
Tsapas FC are 4th after leading the way for much of the ealry part of the season but too many draws in the middle of the season seems like it may cost them. They boast the meanest defence and have the mesmerizing Sergio Aguero to call upon and recently acquried the Brazilian genious Kaka.
MicimackosTeam are currently sitting 5th another team that have been strong and contenders for much of the season. very organised and have the talents of Juan Arango in midfield to pull the strings have a game in hand on 4th and a better goal difference should it come down to it for deciding champions cup places come end of season.

The Tie of season that never was!!!
Now this may sound confusing but bare in mine its beta. What I'm referring to though is the UFFA Champs cup semi final between Superstar Tradesmen and Jason Robinson's The band. Now these ties much like the real champs league ties are over two legs.
1st leg From the Hob stadium.
Pre-match form had the tradesmen win the only encounter between these 2 sides. The tradesmen were looking for an away goal or two to make it easier for the second leg at home. They got one ealry on looking impressive during the early stages of the tie Daniel sturridge getting on the scoresheet in the 4th min.
In the second half the tradesmen collapsed follwing the sending off of Sergio Ramos. A Sobis hatrick an own goal and Fellah goal in injury time gave the band a healthy looking advatange for the second leg.
The game that never was.
El Diablo Arena Tradesmen needing 4 goals at least to give themselves a chance of getting through this tie. Now I have to get by on memory alone here. But an early goial seemed to loft the spirits a second after 20 minutes and it really was looking game on. The Band now looking for attacking options desperate for an away goal themselves to put the tie to bed then into the second half and 3-0 the tradesmen Jason was looking on in sheer horror and panic. Then suddenly momentum shifted again a silly sending off for the Tradesmen and a tense last 15 minutes to come. But incredibily 4-0 they just needed to hold for the last 10 minutes. When that man Sobis struck again with only a minute or so left. But out of nowhere deep in injury Trademen corner and Sonko far post and 5-1 we are going to extra time.
A tense 1st period of extra both side had chances but neither side could break through in this feast of attcking football. Then fate struck again just at the start of the second period of extra time an injury meant the tradesmen were down to 10 with 10 minutes left of extra time. But we will never know the outcome of this incredible tie as this precise point in the match the servers went down :(
The match was replayed with the band adopting a much more defensive approach and the Tradesmen winning the reply 1-0 but failing miserably to advance and Jason must feel like he had a get out of jail free card.

Ball and chain
Well theres a few things to catch up on but the 1st one for me is a congratulations to Dr Nik Reevito who was due to get married today. So Congratulations and hope the day went well for you and enjoy the honeymoon away in Greece/Cyprus I can't remember which. There was one burning querstion though.............did you wear the fabled red tshirt during the wedding? :p Lets hope that ball and chain handcuffs etc are not too tight when you get back and gw 4 hasn't turned to chaos with Phill banning everyone while you away.
So One night Only or one night not to remember? The event had its share of problems late start lots of lag, random bootings and some people just couldnt connect. I am told the data from the evening was invaluable to the SI tema in terms of getting the servers where they need to be. I know some people won't have enjoyed the experience but the time I did get in the gw was fun kind of and I got to catch up with a few old faces from gw 4.

One night only
So I haven't blogged for a bit since the breakdown in my xfa league last season. I have been busy trying to my team from slipping too far down the ranking ladder. I am so far 3rd in XFA prem but about 10 games in hand on the teams above. Got through the group stage in the UFFA champs cup so that wont get any easier from here on in. But strangely I find my team slipping down the world rankings am now 9th.
My post today though is about something SI have set up for a test tonight on some server changes they need as many people online as possible. So everyone is going to be transported into the gws 2-7 and assigned random teams and players for the evening. For those of us that have left other gws its a chance to maybe catch up. For people that joined later its chance to make a few new friends and a real party atmosphere is planned. So in the name of beta testing we get to have a bit of fun and possibly ruin teams etc for the night. Hopefully I can catch up with some of the old guys in gw 4.

Part 3
Superstar Tradesmen 1 Sporting Spalbeek 1
Another one of those games where the Tradesmen had probably done enough for a win but didn't quite get the result. De Smet got the opening goal of the game in the 40th minute when kucher for some unknown reason played a ball across the back 4 not to anyone in particular and left de Smet all the time in the world to latch on and score. The lead was shortlived though with Fernandao scoring just 2 minutes later A deep corner to far post knocked back and Fernandao buried the chance.
Superstar Tradesmen 1 Boca Juniros 1
If the manager of superstars had hair he would surely be tearing it out at this result. Dominated the game and still found themselves trailing after 53 minutes when leonel Nunez managed to lose his marker to tap in at far post. Then a second yellow was shown after Boca gave away a penalty only for Jussie to hit straight at the keeper. Sturridge was able to get an equaliser late on as ramon found him in space afer bringing down a corner and spining roudn to feed Sturridge.
Elssvill 0 Superstar Tradesmen 2
patience was the key here as Elssvill never threatened to score themselves but were intent on making life diffcult for the tradesmen denying them space and time and getting men behind the ball. It was Fernandao reacting quickest to Sturridges low drive that keeper could only plam away that opened the scoring. Emerson as a second half sub settled the points witha delightful chip over the keeper from the edge of the area.
Faccion All Star 0 Superstar Tradesmen 1
How the tradesmen only found 1 goal in this game I'll never some were saying extra firepower may be needed upfront. a scrappy goal Fernandaos shot saved stturridges rebound blocked and eventually jurado was there to tuck away. 15 shots at goal though and only 1 in the net was a cause for concern.
MU FC 0 Superstar Tradesmen 1
An early goal by Fernandao settled the nerves here a bit more Gapke feeding a throughball for fernandao and he cooly blasted into the top corner. A lack of ambition from MU FC meant that the Tradesmen had a pretty easy ride after an inspired performance from there keeper.
Superstar Tradesmen 0 Dragon Raja 2
The warning signs had been there in last couple of games and this was finally the game where poor performances cost them. Slipping back to 2nd in table as well after this result. Omar Ezparza opened the scoring a corner was not cleared. The second came from sloppy marking at a freekick runners not tracked and neat finish at the near post.
KKS Lech Poznan 1 Superstar Tradesmen 2
Josiel put Lech ahead in the 19th minute following up his saved effort. After that though is all about if the Tradesmen could and would respond in the right way. Sonko headed them an equaliser from a corner just 5 minutes later. intot he second hald Jussie found Sturridge in space and he produced a superb to smash home from an acute angle.
superstar Tradesmen 3 CSKA Capricorn 1
That man does it again a Fernandao hatrick destroyed CSKA and was about to set the tradesmen on a run which shaped their season. A trademark header from corner from corner for the opener, A tap in from sturridge's saved shot and a header from close range for the third. No more their play deserved today launching attack after attack on the CSKA goal.
Detroit Soccer Start 0 Superstar Tradesmen 1
The Tradesmen seemingly had just enough to see off a spirited display by Detroit. After the last meeting the game was always going to struggle to live up to expectations and thats exactly how this panned out. Fernandao's bullet header from the penalty area was enough to seal the win.
Superstar Tradesmen 3 Essentia 1
Gonzalez opened the scoring with a smart freekick from the edge of the box on 37 minutes. A throw in on right of the box was fed 1st time for Jurado to latch onto and hit 1st time into the bottom corner delightful passing. Emerson added the third in injury tiem when an awful back pass was presented to him and left him just the keeper to beat. The tradesmen seem to be really building momentum at the moment.
Superstar Tradesmen 1 OZK Hools 0
Not too many times this season the opponents have outplayed the hosts at EL Diablo Arena. Unfortunately though Hools had nothing to show for their efforts. The only goal this scrappy game came when Sonko headed home from a corner. The only other thing of note is the injuries to Kucher and emerson tho neither was as serious as 1st thought.
Real Milan 0 Superstar tradesmen 0
Another game lacking the drive to break through the Real Milan defence although having most of the ball and most of the chances it was defineatly a game to forget. Sebastien Frey the Milan keeper getting the man of the match award tells the story of the game.
Superstar Tradesmen 6 Faccion All Star 2
Back to vintage best here with another Fernandao hatrick and a brace from Daniel Sturridge. Sturridge opened the scoring from just inide the box shooting into top corner on 6 minutes. 23 Minutes and sturridge rounded the keeper to add his second. Just 2 minutes later sturrdge fed Fernandao and he slottted into bottom corner. On half hour sonko headed home a corner from the near post. Fernandao headed home unmarked 10 minutes later. On 50 minutes fernandao headed home his third from a corner. Faccion grabbed 2 goals late on but it was all over bar the shouting by then.
Arsevin 3 Superstar Tradesmen 3
An own goal from sonko was to cost the tradesmen all points here but it should never have really got that far. Jurado played sturridge a throughball and he beat the keeper at his near post. 2 fernandao penalties made it 3-0 job done or it should have been. Castillio somehow found the ball at his feet a coulple yards out and beat Harper. Defence failed to clear Blanco's shot and he made it 3-2. Then the unfortunate turned a cross into his own net.
Sporting Spalbeek 0 Superstar Tradesmen 3
Sturridge powered in the opener from the edge of the box to make it 1-0. Jussie's deflected finish found the top corner on the ht whistle to make it 2-0. The third was a rare headed goal from Emerson from a corner. The game was thougfh apart from the clincial finishing rather even.
Dragon Raja 1 Superstar tradesmen 1
Sturridge got the opening the tradesmen needed but ultimately it was to be fruitless today. Sturridge picked the ball up afdter a corner was cleared in his own half dribbled up the left wing past 2 defenders and unleashed a fierce drive into the far corner an unbelievable goal. But just 15 minutes later Kucher gave the ball away on edge of his own box Niang was able to pubish him for it. Worse was to come for Kucher though who was sent off for 2nd yelow late on.
Superstar Tradesmen 4 MU FC 1
The scoreline flattered a little as the game was more even then it looked. Fernandao from a corner opened the scoring and 4 minutes latter repeated the trick. Jurado added a third with his late trun into the box left him unmarked and knocked home a throughball. Then Jussie found Fernandao at far post and he knocked in yet another for his hatrick. Martins got a consolation late on.
Rothes 0 Superstar Tradesmen 5
Another game another Fernandao hatrick is there anyone who can stop him at the moment? Sturridge grabbed the opener outpacing a defender and slipping his shot past the keeper. Then Gapke beats the fullback crosses near post free header Fernandao. Nocerino found fernandao unmarked edge of the box 3-0. Then the third heading home from the corner. Jussie added the 5th in injury time.
Essentia 1 Superstar Tradesmen 2
Fernandao grabbed both goals as the drive to finish top is reaching its climax. Jurado to fernandao held off a challenge and smacked high into the roof of the net. The second after a scramble in the box from a corner. Things would get worse when Richardes was sent off. A goal back from james mcfadden gave them a glint hope but really the game was always out of reach.
Superstar tradesmen 2 KKS Lech Poznan 1
Fernandao gave them a perfect start intercepting a lazy backpass and rounding the keeper after 3 minutes. Then midway through second half a smart one two put in sturridge who drove past the keeper for 2-0. A late goal back for Lech was too little too late.
Superstar Tradesmen 4 Detroit soccer Start 1
Fernandao added his 3rd hatrick against Detroit for the season and all but wrapped up 1st in the league for the Tradesmen. Sturridge again with an early opener his pace and movement too much for the defence and powerful finish. Gapke fed fernandao and he finish from the tighest of angles. Then just beofre half time heading home sonko's flick on from a corner. The 3rd gapke again beating his man and this time fernandao needed 2 attempts to force it past the keeper.
CSKA Capricorn 2 Superstar Tradesmen 2
Fernandao knocked in after Gapke's cross was never cleared and Gonzalez freekick made it 2-0 but all eyes were elsewhere really as the tradesmen had wrapped up 1st place in the league. It showed as they the 2 goal lead slip in the second half.
OZK Hools 1 Superstar tradesmen 1
How they never won this game I don;t think they will ever understand let alone me. Early lead through Jurado and cruising through this game. Holls had just two shots al game and only 1 on target and the goal came courtesy of a Sonko own goal. Just about summed up luck on the day.
Superstar tradesmen 2 Real Milan 1
Final game of the season then and had to end it on a high no prizes for guessing todays goalscorers though. Fernandao from a corner trademark. Sturridge getting on the end of Gapkes long cross.
Final game of the season then and had to end it on a high no prizes for guessing todays goalscorers though. Fernandao from a corner trademark. Sturridge getting on the end of Gapkes long cross.

MicimackosTeam 1 superstar Tradesmen 1
A vasquez screamer from 25 yards opened the scoring here inside 2 minutes a goal worthy of winning any game really. Unlike the last minute the ball seemed glued to the tradesmen feet a think they got a verbal blasting after that previous meeting. Chances were fairly even though and the equaliser came after a corner was knocked back out to be crossed again and sturridge was unmarked to hit home.
Rothes 2 Superstar Tradesmen 1
Possibly one of the more most frustating performances of the season. Sonko scored early on from a corner onyl to get himself sent off 2 minutes later. another 5 bookings followed and some wodnr if the tradesmen were going to be left with 9 men at times. it was late on thouggh despite the numbers the game was going comfortably enough until the 78th minute. a shot that somehow beat the keeper from edge of the area then a few minutes later N'diaye hit a paeach from 25 yards keeper no chance.

Superstar Tradesmen 2 KKS Lech Poznan 2
Another game where the manager must be banging his head wondering what he has to do to get his team to win games like this. An Early goal from Sturridge after he was put through by Jurado rounded the keeper and smart finish into the empty net. Then came a sending off for the other side and on the half hour 2-0 after Fernandao penalty cruising. Then 55 minutes in a long kick from the keeper everyone seemd to be attracted to the header and player sneeks in behind to beat the keeper an awful goal from a defensive point of view. Back down to earth with a bump here and very poor game in which a late goal from sub Victor Merchan had to rescue a point. A cross came over Fernandao was his usual nuiscance in the box and merchan reacted quickest as ball wasn't cleared. It could have been so diffrent tho If CSKA had hel on to the lead they had 8 minutes before. A ball upto the edge of the box and run not tracked allowed a shot from edge of the area 1-0

A poor start from the Tradesmen could have been costly if it wasnt for Daniel Sturridge to resuc them. On 18 minutes the keeper is completly beaten as hes out of place as an unxpected shot froma very narrow angle makes him look silly. Sturridge then started the comeback witha smart 1 2 with Fernandao and finish in the top corner across the keeper. wasn't until 80th minute that he was able to seal the points nicking the ball from a defender rounding the keeper and tapping into the empty net.

My XFA Season Part 1
As you know I was planning a review of my XFA season what better way to then guide you through my xfa league campaign with all the highs and lows of a FML season.
As you may well be aware by now that all fixtures have resolution dates and fixtures can be played any order as long as the other manager is online to challenge. The xfa is extreme and consists of a 57 match season.
Tekone FC 0 Superstar Tradesmen 5
A glorious start to the season as Emerson hit an opening day hatrick and fernandao showed his early promise with a couple. The result was a comprehensive as it suggests dominating the chances and possiesion of the football getting a good early start is vital though as mianly the opposition is unknown quantity at this point. Emerson scoring a tap in from a corner for the first a smart jig and drive home from the edge of the boix for the second and the third a clean through ball and smashed home from near the penalty spot.
Marinhense Under 14 0 Superstar Tradesmen 2
An overfussy ref and bad tempered game overshadowed the football here a bit with seven bookings in total the ref was on his toes as they say. 5 bookings for the other side Sonko and Emerson the bad boys on my side. Fernandao opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 21st min and added a smart second eight minutes after Emerson springs the offside trap hangs a cross to the far post for Fernandao to nod home.
Superstar Tradesmen 3 AC Parma 2
This is where the Tradesmen seemingly had a get out of jail free card going 2-0 down in the 1st 35 minutes rescuing all three points seemed a bit of a lost cause with the Parma in much of the running for the 1st half. Banda slid a pass through for Emerson to chase onto and he duly slid it past an onrushing keeper and the comeback was on. Fernandao showed great vision to find Emerson in a bit of space in the box and he tucked it away intot he far right corner. 2-2 and thats how it looked as if it going to stay until in injury time Kucher makes a long clearance upfield Fernandao gives chase controls just outside the box to the left side he tricks past the defender and smashes it past a stunned goalkeeper a worthy winner of any game that goal.
AC parma 1 Superstar Tradesmen 1
A much different type of game this time with the tradesmen having much more of the possesion and chances maybe its a bit of poetic justice they couldnt finish them to win this time round. Tibi Balan opened the scoring for parma after a cross was never really cleared and comeback out to the penalty spot and was lashed home. The equaliser came as fernandao rose to head home from a corner. So after the 1st few games the Tradesmen were third and quite happy so far
Superstar Tradesmen 2 Tekone 2
Fancying their chances after the previous meeting a win wasnt to be. Another foul temerped affair was littered with 9 cards which resulted in Lazeveski being shown an early exit admittly in injury though not much of an early exit. All the goals came in a second half whern a More pen opened the scoring on 72 minutes. Carlos Suarez equalised on 78 after Emerson squared to him and he sltted the ball home from 8 yards. another penalty conceded and More again blasted it home. Suarez berat the offside trap and smashed home in injury time for the draw.
Superstar Tradesmen 2 AC Parma 0
The running battle and the final meeting of the seaon between the two teams. There was only ever going to be one winner this time as Parma fialed to register a single shot on target in a lack lustre showing from the early form promotion hopefuls. A stunning fernandao freekick opened the scoring after he blasted it in from the right side of the box and most expecting a cross. Late in the second half Jurado was set away on the break and he dribbled from the half way line into the area and smashed home the games winner get in!!

Tekone depite the result went on to be early season pace setters leading the way in XFA Qual div D. Despite the tradesmen dominating this game for long periods they just could not finish off the chances and were made to pay. A brilliant piece of movement from Thiago meant his run from midfield wasnt tracked and he palced it home from the edge of the area. The man of the match said it all as Sorrentino the Tekone keeper picked up the honour.

Back to winning ways for the boys but again doing things the hard way after falling behind again. Faris Haroun managed to beat Sonko and then smashed it past the keeper at his near post a rare errror from the man mountain at the back. Oyola stabbed th abll home after a croso from free kick was flicked on. Fernandao played an inviting ball for emerson to run onto and slot past the keeper for the second. A minute or two after the Emerson goal and a quite unbelievable mistake allowed fernandao to tap in an empty net. Banda made a strong tackle on the fullback by the half way line knocked a hopeful ball towards the striker keeper out to the edge of his area should collect cleanly misses it completly allowing fernandao to chase and tap in. The keeper nust of really wanted the ground to open up then.
Arsevin 1 Superstar Tradesmen 2
Off to Toronto it was to the Neptune Stadium for a game where Tradesmen should really have killed off the otherside and nearly paid for it second half when they didn't. Fernandao with a pen opened the scoring, Oyola completed it by getting on the end of a Banda corss that looked over hit but was perfect for his late run into the box. Arsevin threatened the comeback witha goal back on the 77th minute but ultimately the tradesmen had done enough.
MicimackosTeam 2 Superstar Tradesmen 2
Another game where despite having more chances and possesion didnt make the opposition pay. conceding early in the 19th minute didn't help settle the side at all. But when Jussie got free on the left wing and found fernandao in sapce from his cross there was only place that ball was going. Gapke made it 2-1 in the 5oth minute after he managed to get on the end of the corner his movement seemingly to quick for his marker. But fernandao with a lovely weighted pass set sturridge through and he obliged with left under the challenge of a centreback.
Superstar Tradesmen 2 Tsapas FC 0
A mod vs mod matchup and this one was never in any doubt. Sturridge opened the scoring after some lovely one touch footy sturrdge to Jurrado into Fernandao who played it onto sturridge and he buried it. Emerson added the second heading home a freekick from the left of the box.
Superstar tradesmen 3 Boca Juniros 0
Destroyed this Boca side from start to finish. Sonko headed in from corner after 10 minutes, Jurado socred a placed shot from edge of the area real touch of class about that finish, Then late on fernandao wins a header on half way line Emerson picks it up beats one races towards area and nicks it past the keeper for 3-0. Boca could only muster one shot on target and really never looked like providing any real comeback.
Superstar Tradesmen 4 Marinhense under14 4
The craziest result of the season without a doubt. Sturrdige smashing one into top right corner from edge of the box after 6 minutes left everyone feeling confident of a win today. Jurado tapping home gonalez deflected freekick after 17 minutes reflected the way the game was going one way traffic. Sturridge again burst through this time keeper saved but jurado was following up and tapped in the 3rd. On the halftime whistle a long clearance suddenly fell to unmarked striker and he tricked his way past keeper for a tap in a possible lifeline back into the match 3-1. Balaban smashed home a penalty and now its 3-2. 61 mins and headed home from Separa's corner and game on 3-3. Gonazlez curled a freekick around the wall and in off the post 4-3 and at this stage you would have to say that would kill off any hopes Marinhense had but it didnt remarkably. They just dont geal with a simple ball fed into a striker allow him enough space beats the keeper at near post. At which point I felt knocking the crap out of my monitor i could not believe my team would give away a game like that.
Tsapas FC 2 superstar Tradesmen 0
Outplayed and beaten by a great player in Sergio Aguero as he grabbed both goals and the headlines in this game. The 1st came as the keeper saved from emerson one end a long boot upfield Aguero's pace making the keeper undecided on his decision to come out or stay Aguero rounds him and decision is made for him. Ramon under pressure from the winger plays an aimless ball back into his own box and Aguero reacts quickest. Just about summed the day up for me.
Superstar Tradesmen 2 Tsapas 1
Instant reply from my players just what i was looking for. Sonko nodded into an ealry lead from 4 minutes, Fernandao addding the second after Sturridge shot was saved a scramble for the rebound knocked it into fernandaos path and an empty net 2-0. 56 minutes Aguero was able to get beyond the back 4 and produced a smart finish but the game had a bitter edge when late on Luis Alberto was sent off for bringing down Fernandao as the last man. Closed down the gap on Tsapas who are 3rd with the tradesmen standing 4th.

Breaking FML
So its been a bit quiet on my blog front as of late. I have been busy playing and moderating still so don't worry. Coming up towards another end of season review soon what kind of season has it been for the tradesmen?
One thing I can talk about is tonight we have a stress test in the new gws 8 9 10 and 11. This is simply that SI want as many people online as possible between 7.30 and 9.30 pm. It is to as you can imagine place as uch strain on the servers and see what it copes with. An important step towards that much sort after release of FML. So if your from gw 11 I will see you there tonight and goodluck and hopeful someone gw 11 will win the generous FML prize ;).

The Tradesmen
So who are the players that have inspired the tradesmen to second in the gameworld rankings? Thats the question I will answer for you now with pics for the important players in the team. Just hope not too many people read this from my gw and work out how to stop them :p
So new gameworld and new heroes for the tradesmen so my 1st major signing and has been the basis of my attack with plenty of goals, assists and man of the match awards is powerful targetman Fernandao.

Next into the tradesmen was the that defensive mountain Sonko as much as a threat from freekicks and corners upfront as he is important to the defence. very recognisable to FML fans as a reliable player to have at the back strong quick and great in the air.

Next in was a creative force in the midfield someone who could supply the strikers with passes crosses have a bit of flair and do something unexpected to beat defences. Luckily I found exactly what I was looking for in a young Spanish star.

Young upcoming striker Daniel Sturridge was the next to come in signed for a mere £300k feeling as though he may need a season or two to be ready as a starter it was clear that although he does miss some clear cut chances the boy has all the ability needed to be a starter for me.

So thats my main players I am not going to screenshot every single one but I do have the overview page to show the rest of my players some names you will recognise others some will never have heard of as I didn't when picking my squad.

Team of the week

Finally after months of beta this prestigious award comes to the tradesmen. I receive the award and a £100k prize money for the team. Now this is awarded to the team that makes the most ranking points that week. Its often that this goes to the number 1 team in gameworld. Well in this instance the team in third were awesome all week.
More news on the Tradesmen front was winning my 1st competition finally I was beginning to think i had a team of big match bottlers after losing in two previous finals despite being heavy favourites. So the free North East Cup is proudly on display in the trophy cabinet after missing out on the mod league title by a single point.
I know that many of you will be wondering who are the new breed of tradesmen players well next time we will look through the starting eleven.

How is life in gw 11?
Well I thought today we could discuss how its been going so far in the Levein gameworld. after the inital trickle of sign ins to the game over the weekend we got quite a number of new managers burst onto the scene. So a few stats.
-1000 users joined the gw.
-773 users have so far signed in during the last 7 days.
-15883 matches have been played so far.
-368 competitions have been created.
-£575k is the highest transfer fee paid for free agent Eduardo by Maximo utd
-£45k is the highest wage currently for David Beckham by FC Tensixty
-Top goalscorer is Leider Preciado of FC Gobbos 129 goals
-The number 1 ranked team is Bostellee Vikings.
- The number one ranked youth team is Bojangles.
- Most matches played in one day was 2933 on the 8th of June.
We seem to have some very active players in gw 11 which as you can imagine keeps us mods on our toes. Overall so far I would say they are a decent bunch. ( I have to say that some of them actually read this)
The 1st season actually kicked off yesterday with all the FA competitions now under way and qualifying leagues to decide on everyones place for next season. Me being in the lovely XFA qual league D. Hopefully history repeats and i can storm the division like I did in gw4.

The floodgates have opend but only a slow trickle turned up.
Well the new world is officially open now as SI pushed heavily to fill some of the gameworlds earlier. So we opened and a few people have made into the gameworld. So far we have 160 users joined. A bit below the target needed for me to pick a team so i guess no playing for me tonight just helping.

So this was the 1st ever game played in levein.

A little sneak at the gameworld records at a very early stage obviously they will change dramatically over the next few weeks or months depending on how long is left in beta.

new week new experiences.
Soooooo start of the new and was hoping to get into my new world and get things kicked off. Looks we going to have to wait a bit longer on that one still hopeful for a launch tomorrow though.
Other going on are SI are preparing themselves for the invasion of the fml geeks this week for the second ever mod day. Nik are has washed and made sure the red tshirt is in pristine condition for its trip to London. I didn't get a chance to go the last mod day as I wasn't actually a mod then but I am quite looking forward to the this one. Now I have been informed that there was pizza delivered by a ninja for the last mod day so I have no idea how they will try to match that this time.

Squatting my way up the rankings
So my home in Laveen is still not ready yet like the Murphy's im not bitter you cannot rush these things. But I was decidedly bored without any FML. The nice people at Sega support decided that all mods from 8 and 11 could temporarily move to gws so we could at least play some games and help some new users in th other two new gws.
I got moved to gameworld 10 to my surprise contained Cian, Paris, Ing, Matt, and mike from gw 11 it was like an invasion on gw10. So getting down to picking a squad and playing some matches I thought I had picked a rather average squad and would reinforce with trialists for few days that I would be here.
So 1st nights play a few friendlies etc I would come in at lowly 246 in the rankings. All well good just about what I would expect. The second day would prove rather different though. I only lost 8 games out of 37 that day even managing to win the flash gordon cup wahey. The rankings did not lie either as new personal highest ever.

More was to follow the next day despite playing alot less games i was expecting a drop in ranking but I went to improve my record with a move another 4 places. Ok I know its only temp but its still a part of my superstar tradesmen history.

Where are they now?
Now while I have to accept that my superstar Tradesmen are no and the players have moved on to pastures new. I can at least look back with my rose tinted spectacles and ask where are they now? I can't track down every Tradesmen who played in the team But I manage to track down some of the more famous names with the help of Mr Sinkins in gw4.
Daniel Larsson well what can I say the price for a central defender is just amazing wow. £6.25 million and a combined total of over 9 million for my central defensive pairing. This guy had just everything during his spell although Leeds Utd have paid alot they also know they are getting quality.

This transfer was a bit of a puzzler for me. His record suggests that he is indeed an awesome striker. But his stats last season for me were not his best but still I feel more then acceptable as part of the season he was no longer a 1st choice. Going for only £750k is a bargain for his new side though.
Another that could have gone for more. A real driving force from the free role in midfield. Some players will go quiet and not be involved in a game he was the type who grab it by the scruff of the neck and turn and a game on its head. Akira FC have got a £650k superstar.
What a player this left back will be and another who was sold for a more then acceptable fee. Going to Magners FC for £2.2 million. This guy is a freekick machine and can score from anywhere. While also being an excellent defender.

So well over £5 million for paid jensen by one his previous suitors in the shape of gw4 mod and forum mod Bell. No surprises there but I still feel maybe that fee should have been higher. A decent start for his new side as well 5 goals in 10 games at the end of the season and 3 in 4 games since the start of the new season.

Breno made a move to the new uffa organiser Shaffiq's Sheff Allstars for a fee of £2.6 million. Seems to be thriving away from the tradesmen as well. So much for that £2 million fee being over priced eh Rich.
I have been informed that in total my squad went for in excess of 38 million in gw4. Now thats how to make money wow. I knew I had some good players but my highest transfer was a lowly £3 million most of squad were bargain buys. So if anyone needed to see that you can be successful in an existing gameworld then they can look through some of these. But now I have to focus on a new team and some legends. I am rehoused in a temporary home until my new gameworld is ready so at least I can get some FML in finally.

The Beta So Far!
As I can not play i thought I would try and sum up my feelings so far on how my experience so far has gone. Having joined in February it feels like such a long time ago as my team have come such a long way since then. In some ways thats another plus point of the game you can become so absorbed in how fast the gameworld moves in reality to time in the realworld. When I have played Fm in the past you are infinitively aware how long a season takes to complete or how many matches you can get through in a night.
Jumping into FML was daunting at first I hope with these new gameworlds Si have taken steps to ease new managers into the game. When I joined there was things flashing at you mail about a 2 million pound bargain wonderkid you will never afford etc. So this was part of my original feedback. Creating your team with kits, stadium and everything else was easy.
Playing matches getting usewd to formations and tactics was also an eye opener. Before playing FML I regarded myself as reasonably tactically aware. I have played several Clan games for FM that spanned several seasons. In FM even human vs human matches people will usually try and keep balanced formations with emphasis on defence as well as attack. There wewre the occasional crazy formations people would try different things to try an exploit a weakness in opposition. Getting into FML it was soon clear alot of people played one way attack attack attack! Now me thinking tactically I know how to cope with these crazy formations and the teams with 3 strikers 4 attacking midfielder and wingers for full backs. Except in fml either I wasn't as good at tactics as I thought or things work slightly differently then they do on FM. I think it was a combination of both really but one thing you can be sure of there will be a manager you come across who will be trying to find some exploit in the the match engine. Now another thing which I feel will help the situation I confronted is the tactic skills. I know discussion on these has been everywhere in the last month or so and I have pretty much not spoken on the subject. A new manager joins the gameworld has roughly a week until start of the season plenty of time to play friendlies in readiness for the season. In the matches to start with the manager will be using a default for formation. Now they can identify and unlock skills needed to create a good tactic. At the same time they are not exposed to a formations like I was. It is also a great way to watch matches and see where you would like to change tactic. Using a default I watched a match and was thinking I need my midfield to hold a ball up instead of giving it away. I want my striker to try and beat his man not lay it back into midfield.
The transfer market is another hotbed of debate several times managers in gw4 would moan the markets dead I can't sell my players because no one is buying. Or later the market is too over inflated everyone asks for too much for that player I am not paying that much. there has been problems in the gw where managers could spend money they didn't have effectively then ending up going into administration. In this case the bids should have been blocked by the bank and they wasn't. Many people seeing the situation exploited it selling players at vastly inflated prices while they would receive the cash if the paying team could not afford it would end up going into receivership and the player they broke the bank for would then go back to a big team in receivership auction. Anyone see a pattern here? SI addressed the issue and fixed it but the damage to the gw economy at that was already done. Another issue was Finance skils. Leaning commercial gave too much money to clubs some people were getting projections of 20 million etc. Again SI changed it so now I have perfect opportunity to see the fixes of these issues in the new gw. Aside from that I always found buying and selling not that much of a problem in the gw. In my first and second seasons all I did was use free agents. Took me the first season nearly to afford my ex goal machine Anderson. After the those two seasons I wisely used end of contract wage auctions to pick up a few promising youth players.
The social aspect of FML. This is was something I was a little surprised at how well the chat rooms and sense of community can grow so quickly in FML. Again at first the chat rooms seem a little daunting but once you had a while to look and see what typically goes on they can be a great place to just spend time and chat. I would spend plenty of time in the lobby chatting about current events usually footy related. While also many people that do know me would know I sometimes would have trouble sleeping. I could log on and just help some new members of the game world watch a few games and give some tips. Sometimes its a bit more difficult to do this during the day when people challenging you and trying to buy or sell players etc. Since the community is so wide spread it means you get a diverse range of peoples opinions this can be great for discussions and looking at things from different perspectives.
There so many positive points as to why I enjoy fml and also a little insight into some of the problems we have seen from beta. Now I have been basically a week without fml it seems a really long time its such an absorbing world to be a part of. Now back onto this week and hoping the new world is ready to go Tuesday so the Tradesmen can get back to business and I can try out these shiny new mood tools (evil grin). Btw changed the look of the blog slightly I think its a bit cleaner and more readable now if anyone wants to leave some feedback on the changes anything you don't like etc please do so.

Meet the Mod
So since I can't play FML at the moment I thought I would at least keep my blog a little active by getting an interview with a fellow gw 11 mod.
Tell us a bit about about yourself who are and your team, where did you come up with your very original team name?
DH: I'm David and I am from Birmingham, I am a Brummie born and bred but without the dreadful accent. I used to be a player and XFA Organiser in GW4 but now have ventured over to GW11 to be a mod with Da Dudester and Michael 'Keegan' Walker which I am really looking forward to.
As for my team name it is not very original as it is Liverpool F.C and no prizes for guessing why I chose it for my team name.
Which player has been your favourite during your time in FML and if you could sign anyone who would it be?
DH: No contest, I am sure you know the answer to this already Andy - my favourite player during my time in FML so far has been Gary Kerr. What a legend he was, had he had more flair than a 2 he could well have been better than Pato, Messi or Ronaldo. Just a shame he's not in the new GW in all his glory. A close second would have to be that striker you hated Andy, I wont supply his name as he's in GW11 and I hope to sign him there too.
Did you manage to get any major honours comps won claims to fame?
DH: I didn't win any official honours although two seasons back in the XFA I did manage to finish second which was a big acheivement for the players I had, we were in fact the first team to break the Joga / Jurong West monopoly that those two teams enjoyed in the XFA top flight.
You have been an FA organiser before moving onto a mod in one of the new game worlds, what are mod organizers and how important are they to the gw?
DH: Yes, I was very fortunate to have been asked by Nik if I would contemplate being a fed organiser. It was an honour to be asked. It was a little daunting at first as being an FA organiser is a very important role within the gameworld. That role is there to oversee the running of the federations and look our for any inactive teams that need removing at the end of the season. Also we have to add new teams, setup the knock-out comps for the new season. Also they have to negotiate the media and prize money for the coming season.
Being an FA organiser has a lot of duties that you don't really know exist until you it's your job to do yourself. It is very important to the runnings of the GW's.
What are your expectations in the new gameworld?
DH: I hope it is as successful as GW4 was. We seem to have a good bunch of new mods in there.
Predications for the new season: FML and IRL?
DH: Too hard to predict what will happen in the new season, it's all down to selecting the right set of players but still too many unknown factors to give a prediction. As for IRL I hope Rafa don't mess with the nucleus he has now, two or three astute signings and we could be challenging for real this season. In the season that just past we finished 11 points behind United but drew 6 or 7 matches we should have won and if you do the maths that is 12 or 14 dropped points, but the biggest key to a good challenge is if we can beat United.
If you had to give a new manager one piece of advice?
DH: My advice would be: In FML it's a lot easier to buy than to sell. That is quite important to know in your first couple of months in FML whilst the finances are tight.
Which team would you consider as a bogey side?
DH: It was always Joga Bonita for me, I think I only managed two or three wins against them in about 20 games but towards the end of our head to heads we played the better football and the difference was one player - Pato, he was unplayable.
If you had to pick your starting skills again what would go for?
DH Scouting first, then tactics, then coaching with a bit of finance thrown in in the meantime.
What will you miss most from gw4? The people? Gary Kerr, Nik's red t'shirt or phil's chats on wrestling?
DH: Well one thing I wont miss is the discussion about Gareth Barry and Peter Crouch and their valuations. I'll miss the people the most, there were some good people in there.
Do you have any mmo games that you have played or currently play? also what is your favourite game ever?
DH: I've never really been into MMO games before this. The nearest to it was Links 2003, used to play that quite a lot and there was always plenty of competition to be found. Also with games I have never really been a games addict before although I do have a fondness for the Need for Speed games and of course FM games.
What is the one thing you most want to see added to fml?
DH: Would love to see 5-a-side competitions as I play 5-a-side myself, that would be so cool.
Is it true now your mod you to have read the mod bible every night before sleep?
DH: Yes it is!! We will need to be up to speed although in the first week or so I don't forsee much need for our mod heads as they will all be too busy walking around the game to bother abusing people but....I have read through it quite a few times now and I have also been through the mod forum just to see how certain scenarios have been handled.
For anyone interested in playing fml but unable to get a beta place how would you sum up the game to them?
DH: Everything they are expecting it to be, it is as good as they imagine.
We thank Dave for the interview he is currently receiving medical attention as he attempts to get through this extended period of FML cold turkey. We hope Dave can make a full recovery by the time SI open the new Laveen gameworld.

New gameworlds.
One thing that has been interesting over the course of the beta is the names of the gw's. In the past we have seen the likes To madiera, psych Robson and tonton.
so many of you may have wondering what the new gw names would be. I can spoil this now and reveal the names.
Buxton
Mirandinha
Rice
Laveen
Laveen being my new home. About my new home the place is a bit empty at the moment. While Buxton and Mirandinha are enjoying the influx of new managers into the beta. Laveens doors are firmly shut until after the bank holiday weekend. I don't smoke, I don't drink that often anymore my only addiction is fml I can see this being one looonnnggg bank holiday weekend.

C-C-C-C CHANGES
Well what can I say I can share a little bit of news with everyone now as of today I am leaving GW4 behind and SI have asked to become a mod on the new gw11. Got to be honest I wanted to put this in last night as I posting the interview was same time I found out myself.
First thing though thanks to everyone in gw4 for making it a great place to be and test for the last few months. A very wide range of people and opinions made it an interesting to be on a daily basis.
So all those players and everything I built in Gw4 will have to go in the bin then. Time to rip the script up and start again fresh. Now what will be the effect on those tactic skills I have a real chance to find out. its all quite exciting in a way so expect more from me soon.
PS someone let me know what price those players go in auctions eh. Currently Dr Reeves is breaking into a bank to afford Jensen :P
